Gene Leynes is a data scientist in the City of Chicago’s Department of Innovation and Technology. His work uses predictive analytics to optimize various aspects of city operations. He has been in this position since May 2014. Prior to that Gene was the president of Chicago Data Science, a startup providing data science consulting services. Gene began his career as an actuarial consultant at Milliman providing complex valuation services to fortune 500 companies.

Gene holds a Masters of Business from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, and a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from DePaul University.
